My name is Arika Galkowski. I graduated from Presque Isle High School in 2000. Following high school, I attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle earning a degree Psychology. Upon graduation I began a career working with children and families with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities. In 2006 my husband and I relocated to Arizona due to his career. We lived in a very small town near the border and over the next 6 years we built a family! I was blessed to have the opportunity to stay home with my children for this time. We have since relocated back to Maine and have four beautiful children, all currently attending school in RSU 9. When we aren't in school, my family loves all things outdoors! We hunt and fish, ski and snowboard, and love the lake and boating in the summertime. We love taking advantage of the 4 beautiful seasons Maine has to offer. We have an extensive backyard garden and even have chickens and goats! My children are all very involved in sports, all seasons of the year keeping us super busy and active.
I began working at Mallett School in 2015 in the Day Treatment program. I am now excited to begin my fourth year in the library! I am passionate about fostering a love of reading in young children. I love reading myself and am so happy I get to share that joy with the children of W.G. Mallett School!
